Marigold (Lat. Calendula officinalis)
The marigold is found in many native gardens and is very popular with its orange flowers as an ornamental plant. Not only does she look pretty, she also has a healing power. And this has been known for several centuries. The first records of its use as a medicinal plant date back to the 12th century on Hildegard von Bingen. It is, so to speak, a veteran of medicinal plants.
The calendula is said to have a decongestant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effect. So it helps especially with all types of skin inflammation and irritation. It is especially considered a miracle cure for poorly healing wounds, eczema and even burns.
